ED GRAY

For the People

A Washington, D.C. native, Ed Gray relocated to Dallas, Texas, as a young boy.  From a very early age,  he expressed an interest in human rights.

Gray is a graduate of both David W. Carter High School and El Centro Community College as well as a two-time graduate of Southern Methodist University. But when talking about his interest in Human Rights, he points to the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship nomination he received based on his educational achievement and his works in the Human Rights field, as a defining moment in his decision to serve the community.

During his undergraduate studies in Sociology and Political Science, he began his long career as a civic volunteer in the cities of Dallas, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and intense involvement with the Arlington School District and the Grand Prairie Independent School District.

His community involvement and his affiliation with the One Hundred Black Men of Greater Dallas, led him back to Southern Methodist University where he served as an alumni mentor to African-American students in the university's minority retention program. He then enrolled in the SMU masters program, focusing again on the sociological and human rights aspect, graduating in 2013.

Gray is now currently enrolled in Southern Methodist University, Doctoral Liberal Studies, and is looking to further the advancement of civil and worldwide human rights.

Gray remains active as a political consultant through Ed Gray and Associates. Gray also maintains a television and radio presence through his television appearances on formerly on WFAA “Inside Texas Politics” and his internet radio/podcast show, “The Commish Radio Show,” airing each Saturday from 4 pm to 6 pm on The Fishbowl Radio Network.
